At Scenic Shores State School, all students from Prep to Year 6 learn Auslan (Australian Sign Language) as part of our Languages program. Through engaging and interactive lessons, students develop communication skills, cultural understanding, and an appreciation of the Deaf community. Learning Auslan supports inclusion, empathy, and respect for diversity, while also strengthening students’ confidence, memory, and expressive skills. By introducing Auslan from an early age and building skills across year levels, we empower students to communicate in different ways and become more inclusive global citizens.
