In April 2023, Mrs Hendriks was appointed the Foundation Principal at Scenic Shores State School. Her previous position was Acting Principal at Dalby South State School. However, she was substantively the Principal at Texas P-10 State School situated on the Queensland/New South Wales border halfway between Goondiwindi and Stanthorpe.
As an educator with over 30 years' experience, Mrs Hendriks has worked in towns and communities all over the state from the Torres Strait to Mount Isa in the north, to the Gold Coast and the Darling Downs Southwest region in the southern part of the state. For 18 years, she has held principal leadership positions across the state, at a Brisbane independent school and an international school in Singapore.
My name is Susan Bunce and I am the Deputy Principal at Scenic Shores State School.
I have worked for the Department of Education for 30 years. Over this time, I have worked in a variety of settings across Queensland, both rural and within Brisbane, most recently at Victoria Point State School. I have held a number of different roles including Deputy Principal, Master Teacher, Instructional Coach, Classroom Teacher, Behaviour Support and Special Education Teacher. Each role has enabled me to develop a set of skills that I bring to our new school at Redland Bay.
I have two sons, one studying at QUT and the other working in disability support. My husband also works for Department of Education. As a family we enjoy camping, particularly on Moreton Island, going to the movies and catching up with friends. We have two puppies a Miniature Dachshund and a rescue dog which you will often see us out walking.
I have always wanted to work in Education, even from the young age of two. I am a stronger believer that every child deserves a champion, someone who believes in them, that will listen and care and push them to be their best learner.
My name is Kelly Marc, and I am the Business Manager and Communications and Community Relations Officer at Scenic Shores State School. I commenced at Scenic Shores in July 2023 as the Communications and Community Relations Officer and transitioned into the Business Manager position in November 2023.
I bring over 18 years of experience working with the Department of Education, with a professional background in graphic design and communications. Throughout my career, I have worked predominantly in secondary school settings, developing extensive expertise in school operations, communication, and community engagement. I am now thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to apply this experience within a primary school environment.
